Blue mood: styling Ocean + Navy

Picasso's blue period may have been over a hundred years ago, but at Mustard we're always happy to dive into our blue era. Our two blue tones, Ocean and Navy, are classic yet modern — and each has its own personality.

Navy, our deep, rich dark blue, is a Mustard original. Part of our very first release of colors, Navy was always going to be a part of the family. Bold and vivid, yet not too bright, she strikes the perfect balance between Royal blue and Navy.

When it was time to create Ocean, we had a challenge on our hands! We wanted a soft, pastel blue, but not an overly-sweet baby blue. It had to be a color that was gentle enough to suit a nursery but grown-up enough to work in a living space, too. By giving her a subtle grey tone, we made Ocean a stormy light blue, and we love the result!
