Behind the Emails - Meet Paris + Lu
Over the last few months, Mustard has welcomed a few new friendly faces to our team. With Em on maternity leave and Lizzy moving into a new role, we were in need of some new Customer Happiness Heroes. Say hi to Paris in Australia and Lu in the UK! We feel so lucky to have found these two when we did and have them as part of our locker loving family.
Customer Happiness Hero, we hear you ask? That's the title for our lovely people who help you with all of your locker queries. If you ever pop us an email, it is most likely them you will be hearing back from, so we thought, why not get to know them a little better? They told us all about how they found us, their role on different sides of the world and of course, their favourite lockers!

Meet Paris
Hey there,
After completing a course in Interior Design in December, a perfectly timed job opening for the role of Australia’s Customer Happiness Hero with the Mustard Made team popped up on my Instagram! I thought how amazing working alongside a female-led, international team would be, especially for a company I have followed and been inspired by for quite some time now. And here I am - the face behind the screen!
My job involves a variety of tasks and every day can look a little different. Some of these include replying to your emails, organising dispatch of all your orders, solving any damages or lost orders, on-boarding new stockists, trips to the warehouse, styling photoshoots, playing with baby Otis, the list goes on. It is always so exciting!
One of the many perks of my job is a growing collection of lockers in my own home. Its hard to stop! (I’m sure many of you can agree!) But getting to know the lockers and the process behind making them has been extremely fascinating and impressive.

I was always one of those weird people that actually enjoyed doing flat packs hours on end but Mustard Made flat packs are next level! I was so shocked at the fact the build involves no tools or screws (apart from the handle on the door - but that hardly counts!) or an instruction manual that takes up the length of your lounge room.
Apart from the actual build and design of the locker, another favourite thing about them is the colours of course! During my studies and throughout my home, most of my designs include a neutral, soft palette. Until now! Now you could throw any of the colours at me and I’ll find the perfect spot for it.
I never really believed that you could actually wake up in the morning and not dread going to work, I thought work-dread was inevitable. But that “looking forward to work” job does exist, believe me! I am super grateful to work alongside such an amazing team of talented people on such an exciting journey!

All about Lu
Job: Customer happiness hero for UK + Europe
Lives with: Harry (boyfriend, carpenter, artist) and Nick (flatmate, designer, potter)
Favourite country: Italy, but dreaming of going to South America and Japan one day
Favourite drink: Alcoholic - Love a craft beer. Preferably pilsner! Non-alcoholic - chocolate milk :)
Favourite food: Tough call between cheese and seafood!
Favourite hobby: Arting, crafting and furniture making
Favourite read: You can't sit me down with a book because no matter how long you leave me I will likely never finish it. I hate being one of those people! That said, my favourite reads are probably biographical accounts of interesting people. Artists and inspiring perspectives in the world.
Favourite item of clothing: A canvas tote bag my sister (Anna Hepburn Studio) made in collaboration with Alice Dansey-Wright - so simple, minimal and bold. Plus it holds EVERYTHING! Female small biz yay!
Favourite locker: The Twinny in Sage - green is my favourite colour and the Twinny in my flat just looks so dreamy!
Meet Lu
Hi!
As the UK’s Customer Happiness Hero, I’m the newest Mustard member of the team - Hello!
I started with Mustard on 11th January and it really was a blessing after all that 2020 just couldn’t muster! After nearly 10 months on furlough with a job I would eventually take redundancy from, to all the Christmas plans going out the window, to highs, lows, hair pulling and endless flat rearranging just for something else to do, along came Mustard!
If you get in touch with us I will be the face behind the screen looking after you and the lockers in your life, bringing some sunshine to all things Mustard. I’ve been working with Jess, Lizzy, Tash and Marc for over 2 months now and I love it. I make sure all your lockers get to you safely and organise spare parts, advise and send a helping hand, the list goes on!
Things haven’t quite been as we planned, with lockdown making sure working from home becomes a solid fixture and some activities being put on hold, like visiting our lovely warehouse team at Haul & Store and assisting with trade shows/events. But it’s working so well and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all.
I grew up around Winchester and moved to London for University nearly 10 years ago (that long ago!?) I originally come from a Fine Art background making multimedia installations, and working for/with some really cool galleries and organisations, but have always had an interest in design and interiors. As a few years went by struggling to connect with the competitive nature of the art world, I decided it wasn’t for me. I felt more at home with design and the communities of supportive makers and small businesses. I have been able to assist my sister Anna with her business Spot Design Market when I can over the last few years and after all the lockdowns of 2020 I knew this was where I wanted to focus my energy and time.
I’m loving being part of the tiny Mustard team (most don’t realise how tiny we actually are!) and I feel super lucky to be part of such an exciting business with lovely supportive people. Jess and Becca really have achieved an incredible amount given how young Mustard still is! It’s really inspiring and has definitely instilled some ‘lets do this!’ in me. I can’t wait to see what 2021 will hold….
(...and from what I do know, it’s going to be amazing! There are very exciting things coming!)
If you want to say hi or need a hand with anything, you can reach me here at lucinda@mustardmade.com or team@mustardmade.com if you're in the UK or Europe.
Lu x
Disclaimer: we did not tell them to say any of the nice things about our lockers or us, they are just lovely, lovely people! That's why we picked them as the perfect Customer Happiness Heroes - they are there to lend a helping hand if needed and will do their absolute best to always leave you smiling. Paris and Lu, we're so happy to have you!
