How To Style: Pastels
Ice cream, fairy floss, flowers and lockers — these are a few of our favorite pastel things. Whether you're creating a sweet little nursery or adding a subtle pop of color to your space, pastels are a timeless and versatile choice.
While pastels can be playful and cute, they aren't just for kids! We love creating surprising color combos by mixing pastels with earthy tones or bolder shades. It's a grown-up take on styling our pastel palette and a great way to add some personality to a neutral space. But pastels are just as happy to hold their own: a standalone locker in Sage, Butter, Blush, Lilac or Ocean is a showstopper all by itself. Or, mix and match with The Ledge or The Baskets to create your dream pastel combo. Let's take a look at three of our favorite ways to style pastels!
be bold
If you can't decide between bolder primary colors like Poppy and Navy or sweet subtle pastels like Blush and Lilac, we have the perfect solution — why not have both?! Pair a pastel shade with its darker, bolder sibling (think Blush and Poppy) or mix it up with daring combos like Olive and Lilac. Experiment by styling bold-coloured accessories like lamps, ornaments or Ledges with your preferred pastel locker. When it comes to adding color to the home, we encourage you to break the rules and have some fun!
earth to pastels
We also love the surprising pairing of rich, earthy tones with pretty pastels. Autumnal colors like chocolate, russet and walnut ground the lighter pastels for a look that's elevated and cool. Take your inspiration from nature and mix floral shades like Blush, Butter and Lilac with leafy Sage and textural elements like timber and rattan.
pastel palette
We're always up for a pastel party! If pastels are your vibe, why not lean in and create your very own pastel pick and mix (BYO candy hearts)? With their shared cool undertones and soft, muted hues, pastels are a perfect match for each other. The best part is by keeping it all in the family you really can't go wrong with this palette. Create your own delicious blend by combining your favorites – and when it comes to pastels, we say the more the merrier, so why not add a pastel Ledge or two to the mix, as well?
pop of pastel
If you're just dipping your toe into the world of color, a single pastel piece is the ideal ice-breaker. Subtle and timeless, pick a pastel to introduce a touch of gentle color to your space, without overpowering it. A solo locker in a pastel shade can be a real showstopper – try Butter or Blush for an elevated take on neutrals, Sage or Ocean for a nod to nature, or Lilac for a pastel with some pizzazz. A Glass locker in one of our signature pastels adds extra softness to your space, with beautiful fluted glass doors to welcome light and texture. Styled in a monochrome space, you'll be surprised at how much a pastel will pop!
