make your own - daisy mirror
Our make-your-own series is back and this might just be our favourite one yet... This week, we're making this really easy, perfectly sized and super cute daisy mirror!
This little DIY is perfect for those handy hooks on the back of your locker door. Make your mirror, hang it up and when you're getting ready in the morning it will put a smile on your face and make life a little bit easier all at the same time! Get your crafting supplies ready, because this is a fun one!
What you need:
- 5 x Wooden discs – diameter 4.5cm x 2mm thick
- Round mirror – 7.5cm diameter
- Hot Glue gun + Glue sticks
- Paint in your choice of colour
- Small paint brush
- Faux leather cord 3mm wide – 15cm long
- Scissors
- Ruler + pencil (optional)
Step by Step
one.
Using your paint colour of choice, paint all of your wooden disks on the front + around the edges. Leave to dry and then apply a second coat if needed (depends on what your paint is like - you do you!)
two.
Once all of the paint has dried, lay the discs painted side up in a flower pattern, so the sides are touching.
three.
Put hot glue in a circle on the back of your mirror. Flip it over quickly and press it down in the centre of the flower pattern. Tip - be careful not to put too much hot glue so it doesn't spill out of the edges, but just enough that it stays stuck!
four.
Cut faux leather to 15cm and hot glue the ends onto the back of two wooden discs creating a hook for hanging. You can cut it longer or shorter to suit the height you would like your mirror to sit.
five.
Pop the mirror onto the handy hook on the door of your locker. Now don't forget to give yourself a little smile when you open the door!
How easy is that? We love that this DIY can be personalised, you can match it to your locker colour or mix and match for a different combo! If you decide to give it a go, we'd love to see how it looks - pop us an email over to hey@mustardmade.com or tag us on Instagram, it will make our day!
